Poison your body and everyone around you.

If you want a long life saying good-bye to your smoking habit, no matter what you are smoking is necessary. You’ve seen the ads; you know the health risks by now. Smoking is deadly to you and those around you, leading to lung, heart, throat, diseases. You can choose small simple changes, one step at a time. These small changes do give you the strength to finally completely quit and let your body heal. One thing you must be willing to do and that is ask for help from others. Reading this bit of information is also a very good step, but it is just a step. I have presented many ideas for better health and mental strength to begin this process of cleansing of your body and spirit. Do you laugh when I tell you the power to stop smoking comes from your mind and emotions. Can you control your body and desires, then you can stop smoking.

1. Do not rely on substitutes for your cigarette smoking addiction.

If you believe the commercials they tell you to exchange your smoking for gums, patchs, and other expensive tricks. If you believe them you will never learn to control your body on your own. You will never win the power to stop altogether. If all the commercials were right no one would be smoking. These products line the pockets of big companies with great profits. You will have to do this on your own, do you trade one habit for another? If you rely on something or someone else you may succeed for only a short time and then relapse. It is a false since of power. The first time something stressful happens in your life the substitute will no longer be strong enough and all your effort will be wasted, as well as a lot of money.

2. Exercise regularly will help to quit smoking.

Regular exercise is a great way to relieve stress and give you time to think. When your body gets stronger it will heal on its own. Remember your body has been contaminated for a long time, so it will take long regular exercise to drive out the toxins. Go very slow, you should even consult with a doctor first. If you are short of breath or have chest pains stop, start again the next day.

3. Have a proper diet to stop smoking.

Your body needs vitamins and minerals, which you have been depriving your body of when you were breathing in Cigarette s

moke. Begin with a balanced diet, good raw fruits and vegetables. Make sure to eat several times a day. Cut out the fast foods which have loads of fat and very little value. Eat more whole wheat, organic non-processed food, cut out most if not all coffee, pop, alcohol, cookies, candies etc. Remember when you stop smoking it will be very easy to start gaining weight. You may begin to crave anything you can put in your mouth.

4. Remember to stay hydrated to stop smoking cigarettes

Drink enough water and liquid to keep your body hydrated. Drinking liquids required in order to eliminate unhealthy chemical substances, including nicotine. The quicker you can detox the nicotine from your system the faster the cravings will ease. In fact, the smoking urges can even be substantially reduced if you drink enough liquids.

5. You must have in mind your plan to stop all at one time or to taper off.

You should know that people that have successfully quit will tell you that to taper off, smoking cigarettes you do not like buying less and less just does not work. But if you insist in doing it this way you should mark on your calendar exactly when the quit date is and when that day comes you MUST stop.

6. Set up boundaries. Make a honest list of what gives you the urge to smoke.

7. Find help. Click Here For More Support!

Find a group of people that will support you. They need to be strong people that will not let you slip. If your close associates at work are smokers you should make a change and find people who do not. You will most likely never succeed if your around smokers, that takes twice the inner strength. Remember why you are doing this and why it is important. Make a list of why you are doing this. List all the health reasons, economic reasons, the health of your family and so on.  Now share this list with your support team so they can remind you when the time comes that they have to be strong. You need support at home and at work. If you cannot find it in your home, find it in your friends that can come to your home.

8.  Understand the cycles that you are going to go through.

These emotional cycles are normal and you will not be able to avoid them. Be sure and educate your support team before the cycles begin.  Stage 1: You will have a feeling of loss, sadness, depression. You have been attached to this addiction for years in most cases. So the feeling could be as real as losing a loved one.  Stage 2: Rage, denial, negotiation, depression, and acceptance phases for your recovery from addiction to be successful. Negotiation is a strong emotion. You will negotiate with yourself when you win you will have to begin working on the support team.  Make sure they are ready for it.  This cycle will happen over and over for months or years.

9. Rewards, Celebrations!

Make a list of your steps, when you win a battle, reward yourself. Do something that makes you feel good. Oh, one more thing.  Get a hobby; find something to occupy your mind and hands.
